Boys Varsity Baseball vs. Carman-Ainsworth HS School

Dow High Varsity Baseball traveled to Carmen-Ainsworth High School on Monday evening and swept a doubleheader from the Cavaliers 24-1 and 21-1. In game number one, Cam Patty started on the mound and gave up 1 unearned run before being relieved by Cam Haiser who picked up the win for the Chargers. Haiser went 2 innings with 0 runs on 1 hit. He walked 2 and struck out 5. The Chargers were led offensively by Riley Nelson who went 4 for 4 with 4 rbi's. Logan McCoy and Trent Johnson both went 3 for 4 with 4 rbi's. Caleb Brenske and Ryan Murphy were 3 for 4 with 2 rbi's a piece. Jack Bakus blasted a solo home run.
In game two, John Szajenko threw a complete game 3 inning mercy. Szajenko gave up 1 unearned run on 2 hits. He did not walk any batters and struck out 2 to get the win. Logan McCoy was 3 for 3 with 4 rbi's. Matthew Douglas was 3 for 4 with 2 rbi's and Cam Patty was 2 for 2 scoring 3 runs and driving in a pair,
"I thought we did not take any of our at bats for granted. When we saw a strike we made great contact. Our baserunning was very good tonight as well. We will do some defensive work this week as we could have been a little more sharp with that part of our game. All in all, I am very proud of the way we played today". Commented Coach Juday.
The Chargers will travel to Bay City Western for a doubleheader on Thursday April 29th at 3:30.
